The sauna, showers, and hallways of all of the Ni Yon Kaikan are well lit, the "play" rooms are not. Private rooms are usually well lit. This is true of most hattenba.

Most of the all too many hattenba that I have used have rather dimly lit "play" rooms.

I do not think flashlights are allowed, you may have to feel your way by hand. That of course can be great fun, or it can get you slapped.
